Dragon Ball is a cult manga created by Akira Toriyama, first published in 1984. This legendary shōnen follows the adventures of Son Goku, a young boy with superhuman strength and a monkey's tail, who embarks on a quest to find the Dragon Balls, seven magical balls capable of granting any wish when they are united.

The story is divided into two main parts : the first, more focused on humor and adventure, follows Goku as a child, as he travels the world in search of the Dragon Balls, meeting allies like Bulma, Yamcha, and Krillin, and facing enemies like the Red Ribbon Army or the demon Piccolo. As he goes, he discovers his true extraterrestrial origins as a Saiyan, a race of powerful warriors.

In the second part, titled Dragon Ball Z, the story takes a more dramatic and intense turn, with epic battles and increasingly high stakes. Adult Goku must protect Earth from formidable enemies like Vegeta, Frieza, Cell, and Majin Buu. Saiyans, Super Saiyan transformations, and epic battles become key elements of the manga.
