Demon Slayer : Kimetsu no Yaiba is a manga written and illustrated by Koyoharu Gotouge, first published in 2016. The story takes place in Taishō-era Japan, where bloodthirsty demons roam the night, terrorizing villages. The story follows the adventures of Tanjirō Kamado, a kind-hearted young boy, whose life is tragically changed when a demon massacres his family, leaving only his sister Nezuko, who has been transformed into a demon herself.

Determined to restore his sister's humanity and avenge his family, Tanjirō joins the Demon Slayers, a secret organization dedicated to eradicating demons. Through intensive training under the master Sakonji Urokodaki, Tanjirō masters the art of swordsmanship and the Water Breathing Style, a technique that amplifies his abilities. He then embarks on a perilous journey to hunt down and eliminate demons, while searching for a cure for Nezuko.
